Live on the Green is a free live music Thursdays at the end of August and all Labor Day weekend. Full of food and fun this is a great weekend festival for family fun!

This is one of those things I am not sure if i should spread the word on or not. Every year it gets a little more congested, but the music and festy vibe are on point! Live on the Green Festival was started by popular local Nashville Radio station Lightening 100. The festival began in 2009 and quickly became one of Nashville's premier annual events. Hosting many of the bands that are regulars on the airwaves at Lightening 100, the bands usually are a cross section of local Nashville Indy bands as well as National touring acts. There are loads of Food Trucks that surround the streets around Public Square Park where the festival is located. Every food has a truck representing flavors from all over the world with well over 40 trucks at last years festival. Just a short walk from lower Broadway, during this up hill walk you can bar hop up 2nd Street and end up at the concert entrance.
Labor Day Weekend
The BIG weekend party is Labor Day Weekend. It will be hard to find an outdoor festival with this good of a line up anywhere for free! Trust me, I have been doing outdoor festivals for 25 years. This is the best FREE show bang for the buck you can get. Live Music is on two stages starting Thursday night and goes thru Saturday night. Great music, awesome Food Trucks, and all with in walking distance from the fun of lower Broadway and Printers Alley. Get your hotels ASAP because this weekend fills up fast. FREE concert, but not free camping. Thats about the only way this weekend could be better. DO IT ! This festival rocks! Cheers!
